ABOUT ME
Hi, I’m Shane McKaskle, Gold Seal Certified Flight Instructor - Instrument dedicated to helping pilots build skill, confidence, and a lifelong passion for aviation.
My journey in aviation began with the same excitement and curiosity that drives so many aspiring pilots — the dream of mastering flight and understanding the art and science that makes it possible. Over the years, that passion grew into a career built on training, mentorship, and the pursuit of excellence in every cockpit I’ve flown.
I’ve accumulated over 1,800 hours of total flight time, including multi-engine and turbine experience, and I’ve had the privilege of guiding dozens of students from their first discovery flight all the way to professional certifications. From Private Pilot through Instrument, Commercial, CFI, and CFII training, my goal is to help each student not just earn a certificate — but truly understand and own their skills as a safe, competent, and confident aviator.

Teaching is where I find the most fulfillment. Every pilot learns differently, and I believe that great instruction comes from patience, clear communication, and adaptability. Whether I’m working with a brand-new student or helping a commercial pilot refine advanced techniques, my focus is always on elevating expertise and building a foundation that lasts beyond the checkride.

As your instructor, you can expect a professional, supportive, and organized training environment. Every lesson will have a clear purpose and measurable goals. I’ll ensure that you understand not just what to do, but why it matters — helping you become a pilot who thinks ahead, makes sound decisions, and flies with precision.

What I expect from you:
Your progress depends on consistency, preparation, and attitude. I ask each student to approach training with the same professionalism and commitment that I bring to every lesson.
I expect you to:
Show up prepared and on time, with lessons reviewed and materials studied. If the airplane is preflighted, even better!
Be proactive — ask questions, take notes, and seek to understand, not just memorize the answer.
Respect safety culture and maintain a professional attitude during all phases of training.
Take ownership of your learning — complete homework, review maneuvers, and study ground material regularly.
Communicate openly if you’re struggling with a concept or skill. We’ll tackle it together.
